Constance and Logan’s Sturdivant Hall Wedding
If there’s one thing in the south to fall in love with, it’s their wedding venues. Not only are they just gorgeous. But, they are filled with so much charm that can take the feel of your event to the next level. Whether you want a barn wedding in Texas, a ballroom wedding in Atlanta, or a plantation home wedding in Alabama, the south has it all. One hidden gem of a wedding venue is definitely the Sturdivant Hall located in Selma, Alabama. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a historic Greek Revival mansion that was built around 1853. It’s truly the essence of southern charm at it’s finest. Needless to say, I was unbelievably excited to capture Constance and Logan’s gorgeous Sturdivant Hall wedding this summer.
An Outdoor Wedding That Dreams Are Made Of
Can we go ahead and talk about how rain on your wedding day isn’t always a bad thing? Brides are constantly being told to pray for sunny skies on their big day. However, you may not know that extremely sunny skies during an outdoor wedding aren’t always the best. It can lead to some very harsh light and squinty eyes. Correct me if I’m wrong. (But, I know you won’t after seeing this gallery!) There’s just something about a rainy wedding day on camera that can be so dreamy. Especially if it’s just enough to brighten the grass and lead to a few of the cutest umbrella portraits.
It rained a tiny bit on Constance and Logan’s wedding day. But, the Sturdivant Hall was the perfect backdrop for it all. Between the house’s white exterior against its bright green lawn, seating from PEWS, and Shabby & Chic Event’s florals, the space was transformed into something every classy southern belle would dream about. Although the skies were the slightest shade of gray and the ground was wet, you wouldn’t have even known it even had rained. Constance and Logan lit up and glowed the entire day. Meanwhile, we were lucky enough to have the rain subside enough for their gorgeous outdoor ceremony on the back lawn and portraits on the mansion’s front steps.
Congratulations to the Mr. and Mrs. Eads!
Constance and Logan, I am so honored that you allowed me to be a part of the start of your forever together. I hope these photographs are something that you can look back on and cherish for a lifetime. You were the sweetest couple, and it was such a pleasure getting to work with you.
